Con report part 2

Sealand

Now that I'm slightly more awake than yesterday, I have to say how great my Mom is. She drove me and my friends the hour and a half to the con and back two days in a row. She put up with us talking about yaoi. She must've known what we were talking about, at least after a while ^^;;; She also bought me a plushie of Momiji in his bunny form. My Mom is awesome.

I also forgot about all my free stuff on Friday. My goodness, did I get free stuff! I got two episode samplers of Slayers, Record of the Lodoss Wars, and Now and Then Here and There. Plus, a sampler of episode 3 of Shadow Star, which was right where I left off watching in the video room Saturday. I also got a free Shonen Jump manga sampler and some one chapter manga comics and a buch of posters (Spiral!!). Really cool. When will I ever find time to watch all that anime?

On Saturday, Kate, Sara, and Heather ([info]slashy_sprite, [info]kethron, [info]matta_sue) pulled up 30 minutes late. We got everything ready, then hopped in the van. I got so distracted that I forgot my Masakete Iruka DVD for Akitaro Daichi to sign T_T I think my subconcious didn't want to wait in any more lines.
Yesterday, every one was so quiet in the car, that I wished I had brought a book. Today was my loud group. Poor Mom ^^;;;
We stopped at a reststop half way through, with Kate and I in full cosplay. She was Martel from FMA and I was Marlene from Okage. It's almost fun cosplaying in public, if you have a friend doing it too.
So, we got to the con every one in the car shreaked with joy at seeing all the cosplayers walk up the road. On our way into the building, Kate was nearly kinapped by a mob of other FMA people ^^; She wasn't even registered yet.
I left everyone at the reg. line and headed to the dealer room to pick up the Haibane Renmei DVDs I saw yesterday. I then stared at the keychain both yet again. It was such an overwhelming both! So much Bleach and Prince of Tennis, plus some Loveless, Death Note, and a few other things I liked, that I couldn't even decide what series I wanted, much less what from that series. Let me tell you, the Bleach stuff was awesome. They had the hair clips that Orihime wears and the glove Rukia uses to knock Ichigo's soul from his body, and these braclet/cuff things that had spikes on them and 'BLEACH' stamped on. Like something from Hot Topic. Really cool. I finally got a little zipper-pull type thing with two little charms of Ichigo and Rukia and a tiny little bell. I jingled all day ^_^ I then found everyone else, so Sara, Heather, and I headed over to Holiday Inn to watch DNAngel with Sara's new friends who she met in her first 10 minutes at the con. Sara has magic powers, I tell you. Kate decided to do her own thing and we saw very little of her the rest of the day. So Heather and I grabbed the last two seats in the room. I sat down and the nice guy next to me moved over so Heather could sit next to me. He was really nice. Heather spilled a glass of water on him (and my shopping bag) and made friends with him for the hour (see if I ever get get her water again (kidding)). Sara and Heather loved DNA ^_^ I'm not too sure what we did after that. I think we did the art room, where I bought a fanart Card Captor Sakura pin, then the dealer room, where I bought a Ritsuka keychain (I finally found something good from Loveless). I remember just trying to kill time till 3:00 so I could watch Shadow Star. Sara and Heather went back to the dealer room while I watched Shadow Star. They had to back to find me and Mom, though, because Heather's heal broke of her shoe earlier and they wouldn't let her back in with out shoes. Jerks. Heather got her shoes back out of the car and went back to the dealer room. Anyway, I have a new love. Shadow Star is awesome. I need the anime and manga right now. It's such a good mix of cute and freaky. The opening is so bouncy and adorable, but alot of the show is just freaky. I love it. After an hour of Shadow Star, I bought a print of Bridget from Guilty Gear (finishing up my money) while looking Sara and Heather. I found them and we killed time till 5:00. The Fruits Basket panel was delayed and I was getting really mad standing in line again, but we did get to see it. Daichi and Yasuhara's translators were horrible it was so tough to get any questions answered. Meh.
After that, I think we found Kate and everyone went to watch Fullmetal Fantasy, while I sat in the cafeteria area and waited. FMF was far too loud after such a long day.
We went home. Oh, but on the way, we stopped at a KFC still in our cosplay ^_^ And talked about slash fiction. In KFC.
S and H stayed the night. It was very cool to go down stairs at 11:30pm and watch some Naruto while drinking tea and eating toast. When we went to back to bed, Sara talked me half the night. I think we now know a scary amount about each other ^_^;;; I won't get into what we talked about, but I'll just say that we have decided that I'm reincarnated from a house cat. Really. It fits perfectly.
The next morning (ugh...morning already?) we dropped them off in New Paltz and I didn't get to take a shower Sunday because we were out all morning. I was sooo greasy all day.

In conclusion, if I ever see a Naruto headband, alchemy sign, or Inu-Yasha anything in at least the next week, I'll sceam.
But I really did have a great time ^_^
I'll put pictures up as soon as I get them back from develouping (yeah, I'm so old fashioned).

Yeah, the con was tons of fun!

And just so you know, I'm still wearing my Naruto headband. I slept with it around my neck last night because I felt naked without it. The only time I took it off was for the hour of karate I did tonight. ^_^

Their fault, completely. ^^ Neither one of them wanted to get up.

Kate decided to do her own thing and we saw very little of her the rest of the day.

Sorry about that. >_> I made a couple of new friends, and then it was time for the FMA panel, and we had to run if we wanted to be first in line. I *did* try to find you guys, but at that point I didn't know how to work the walkie-talkie. I think we all knew from the start that there was going to be splitting up at some point. ^_^

You know, they wouldn't get up Sunday morning either, so we're late dropping them off too ^^;;;

Ah, Don't worry about it. I know how it is ^^. You probably would've been bored doing our stuff.
